'Survivor' recap: Flipping and flopping and dethroning the queen

Welcome back, Aparri tribe, from tribal council where they voted off Alexis. Even though they just lost a member, they are in high spirits. Aparri has six players, Solana has five; if they stay strong as a tribe, they can rule the game if and when a merge happens. They quickly decide that if they wake up to a merge, the first person they'll target is Trisha or Jefra.

Kass notes that it sounds like a great plan, if everyone keeps their word, but she's seen great plans scattered around a murder scene. Somebody is a "CSI" fan, apparently.

The next morning, Kass and Sarah are walking and talking. Kass says she's worried that she, Sarah. and Jeremiah might flip, which Sarah finds insulting. She's given her word, what more can she do?

Kass later tells the camera that you can ask for trust, but you need to show the blood of a former tribe member on your hands before she'll feel comfortable. What is up with this woman? She's an attorney, not an executioner.

In the bright sunshine, everyone is feeling happy at Solana, even Tony, who also is feeling a bit bored without some scheming going on. Well, put on your scheming cap. Treemail arrives, instructing Solana to pack up and move to Aparri for the remainder of the game. It's a merge.

Folks don't seem too excited on Solana, but Aparri is beyond happy. Until the Solana Five arrive. Sarah says it feels weird to see her former team and alliance members, but they brought food so she's happy again.

A note confirms the merge and also tells them that while two hidden immunity idols are still in play, a third one with special powers has been hidden somewhere around the camp.

The survivors chow down and Tony starts worrying about the numbers. He needs to get Sarah back on his side, which would have been easier had he not, at the last challenge, embraced his four other tribemates and shouted "Final five, baby. Final five." Sarah had sworn her loyalty on her badge, so Tony, also a cop, plans to launch a blue bloods guilt trip on her.

Trish, the yoga teacher, leads a class for the women while the men talk fishing and strategy. Tony tells LJ and Woo that he's going to try to get back in tight with Sarah. He promises her that it will be him and her at the finals. He asks her to swear on her badge that she will join him and vote off either Spencer or Kass.

Sarah tells him she can't do that yet, and says they need to let it play out. Sarah later says that she's sitting pretty with both sides wanting her vote.

Sarah goes to Kass and Jeremiah. They are convinced that LJ has the hidden idol, so they want to vote off Woo or Trish. Sarah refuses to vote off Trish. She says there is no reason.

Kass is upset that Sarah is, basically, saying that if they don't do what she wants, she'll go to the other side where they'll let her vote off who she wants. Kass doesn't trust cops, she says, and she sort of wants to punch Sarah in the face.

Sarah thinks Kass is bullying her.

Kass and Sarah, along with Tasha, are cooking and arguing, which has Tasha concerned. Tasha tries to play peacemaker. Sarah says Kass is attacking her silently. Kass thinks Tasha has taken Sarah's side and she realizes the alliance of six is falling apart.

Fortunately, it's time for a challenge.

Immunity challenge

It's an endurance, balancing contest. Survivors will stand on pyramid shaped floating platforms. They start on a lower foothold, but have to move up the pyramid at intervals. They can't touch the platform with any other part of their body.

After 15 minutes, they move up to the next rung. Everyone survives the second round, and they move to the top, except they start falling like dominoes. Tony, Woo and San Jose's Morgan are left, but a gust of wind knocks Morgan off. Woo, who is wearing those funky shoes that look like socks, wins immunity, to which we say, Woo hoo.

So here's a quick recap of the former Solana tribe. Woo has immunity, Tony has a hidden idol as does LJ, leaving Jefra and Trish as the only unprotected two. Aparri may have the numbers, although the alliance is starting to show huge cracks, but none of them have an idol. Of course, there's still that magical idol out there somewhere.

Back at camp, Woo gets congratulations while Sarah makes her decision -- she's sticking with the weaker people. No, she actually calls them that.

So the weaklings, and Sarah, gather in the water to bathe and decide who to vote for, and the majority want to vote off Jefra but Sarah, who already has declared that she's president, wants to take out Tony. She promises them that he couldn't possibly have a hidden idol because he would have told her, what with all that badge swearing and cop brotherhood thing. She doesn't think any of them have an idol.

Kass remains quiet, or as Sarah would say, silently attacking her, but she later tells the camera that Sarah is ruining everything. The agreement was to take out the two weaker players before going after the big boys, and Sarah is delusional.

Tony tries to feel Sarah out and she promises to think about it, but won't make her decision until tribal council. Tony is stunned and decides that if he feels iffy about it, he's playing his idol.

Meanwhile, Trish talks to Kass about voting out Sarah, and they head to council with Aparri voting for Tony, per Queen Sarah, and Solana voting out Sarah.

Tribal council

Jeff Probst tries to feel out the room. Tony says he hopes people don't vote based on numbers, but for comfort -- who you're comfortable playing with.

Probst asks about idols and there is some question about whether anyone has one. Tony says he has one, and when Spencer challenges him to produce it, he does. And he says he's going to play it, maybe not for himself but for someone else. Sarah is shocked and Aparri talks among themselves changing their vote to the "other one." Solana says it will stick with its decision.

Folks vote and before they are read, Probst asks for idols and Tony plays his for LJ. Then before anything else happens, LJ plays his idol for Tony.

Aparri is shocked and Solana is jubilant until the votes are read and the first vote is for Jefra. The vote eventually is tied at five, but in a shocker, Sarah gets that sixth vote and is snuffed.

Aparri members start asking who flipped and they quickly point at Kass, who can't hide a smile at Sarah's exit. Jefra reaches over and thanks her, and Tony also commends her. Spencer is angry and tells her she now has zero chance of winning. Kass says there still is a long way to go.
